'The New Sorrows of Young W.' Translates many of the elements of Goethe's novel The Sorrows of Young Werther into a contemporary East german context. The hero is a 17 year old apprentice, Edgar Wibeau, who decides to drop out and escape from his provincial home town to Berlin, where he hopes to establish himself as an artist. |
