The production appeared to gratify a certain morbid taste for the sentimental that is prominently developed among a particular section of playgoers. This was amply demonstrated by the fact that a far larger house assembled to witness this faultily-constructed tragedy than has greeted the production of any of the really high-class pieces that have been performed during the present short season.
