| Abstract/Description |
The first night - last Sunday - of the production of Repertory's 4th play for 1961, "The Man" by American playwright, Mel Dinelli, gave the audience a glimpse into the life of a youngish man, Howard Wilton, who was bothered, bewildered and bedevilled. - Difficult Task - In his first venture in the sphere of production, Bob Cawdle had a difficult task, but the highly realistic and credible performances of his cast must have been very gratifying to him. - Although, as inferred, the story may be rather "strong" meat, I believe that everyone in the theatrette on Sunday evening will acknowledge the considerable skill of the players, particularly that of the principals, Eleanor Williams and Don Neville. - It was patent that both played their roles, to use an expression, tremendously "hard"; in fact they "lived" them, and both gave a powerful interpretation of difficult and exhausting roles. |
