| Description |
A startling presentation of Schoenberg's cabaret-inspired songs. A hit from the Adelaide Festival, featuring the great Australian soprano Marilyn Richardson. The Classical Cabaret "Pierrot Lunaire" by Schoenberg will be performed by Marilyn Richardson (soprano) James Christiansen (baritone) and ensemble. Marilyn Richardson is the greatest Australian soprano to have emerged since Joan Sutherland. In 1974 she created her own supercharged version of Schoenberg's epoch-making "Pierrot Lunaire" at the Lucerne Festival. Her awesome rendition came to be known as "Marilyn Pierrot." |
