| Description |
In a three-week period of intense activity, a wide-ranging program brings together well-known and highly distinguished artists from overseas with the less known but no less distinguished who have special contributions to make. In the latter case, some of these are new, innovative, and pioneering in their work. The Festival offers a platform and an audience in an ambiance of excitement and celebration. For our many superb New Zealand artists, the Festival brings a focus to their accomplishments and renews interest in their talent as musicians, dancers, and actors. And of tremendous importance is the opportunity for New Zealand performers, writers, and artists to meet their international colleagues in seminars and masterclasses and to observe their work. |
