The young Australian conductor, Nathan Aspinall opens the ASO’s 2014 Mozart @ Elder Series with Mozart’s grand overture to his opera Idomeneo. Continuing our yearlong celebrations of Richard Strauss, Celia Craig, the ASO’s Principal Oboe, performs his classically-inspired, lyrical Oboe Concerto. To close the concert, a perfect classical symphony by a master of the form - Haydn’s witty La poule (The Hen). |
