Inspired by Thomas Mann's novel. 'In the cavernous space of Shed 1, brilliantly lit scenes suddenly emerge from the gloom and just as suddenly disappear. There is little dialogue, but instead screams and yells. Actions are repeated, usually in threes. The effect is of a dream, or a nightmare, existing beyond or beneath rational thought processes.' With a cast of 17 and a dazzingly inexplicable finale, it is performed in the gritty atmosphere of a converted warehouse. |
