Description Remarkably dark for a show with Broadway ambitions, the premise of Assassins is a sardonic revue that assembles great assassins of American history, from John Wilkes Booth to John Hinckley. Their hits (and near misses) are recreated in a line-up of brilliant musical pastiches, the show ending in a surreal timewarp as the assembled company egg on a reluctant Lee Harvey Oswald.
