| Description |
Rigoletto is in cahoots with the lecherous Duke of Mantua, who seduces and disposes of women as the mood takes him. But Rigoletto's mockery of the Duke's victims earns him the attentions of the wrong people, and they decide to kidnap his mistress as punishment. However, she isn't his lover; she is his beloved daughter Gilda, who he has kept hidden from the world to protect her. Rigoletto unwittingly helps to abduct her and the jester ultimately gets a taste of his own medicine. |
