| Description |
Set in 1476, this play is about the entire population of an Andalusian town who rise up to defeat the vicious local tyrant. The leaders are a group of powerful, witty peasant women, who act as the townsmen sit feebly pondering. Also explored is the power-struggle in Spain between Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon. |
