Title Music [Fayette]
Abstract/Description On Saturday evening a small audience mustered at the Opera House to witness the debut of Miss Julie Davies in Brunton Stephens and G. B. Allen's comic opera ' Fayette,' but they were doomed to disappointment, for at 8 o'clock there was no appearance of the orchestra, and minute after minute slipped by, noted only by occasional outbursts of stamping and cries from the pit till about 8.30, when Mr. Victor Prince ( Mr. Howard Vernon's son) appeared before the footlights with an announcement that Mr. Vernon was seriously indisposed, that the money would be returned at the door, and that 'Fayette ' would be performed on Monday instead. Monday, however, has passed and gone, and ' Fayette ' is still unperformed.
